Lei's could feel his heart pound. He had ran off into the jungle after being released and was now in hiding in the bushes. He was scared. Never had he seen a place like the jungle before and he had no idea how to get back to his mother and brothers.
Once he calmed down a little he stuck his nose through the bushes to take a peek at his surroundings. Everything was different from home, the trees, the colors, and out of curiosity he emerged from the bushes to look around. His eyes saddened from being separated from his family. After a short walk, stumbling through the jungle the sadness in his eyes increased. He was lost, lonely and intimidated by the strange surroundings "Shei!!" he screamed, "Feng!!! Mom!!"
Not hearing any response he got desperate, hurrying himself over to trees and bushes to call for them again, hoping to find them. After several failed attempts he had lost hope. He sat down beside a big tree and started crying. "Mom!!! Mom!!" he yelled, again and again, hicking and sniffing for his incredible loss.

Sarabi was not one to take long walks, but she had told Simba and Kiara she was going to go to Hakuna Jungle in order to just get away for a few days. She needed to relax and get away from the Pride... And, it was getting close to the day her mate died, the day Mufasa was taken from her. She let out a sigh and then looked out at the desert. She had travel during the night and slept during the day, in order to hold in energy and then when the sun set, she moved again. The sun had just risen today, so everything was bright and happy. She smiled and then entered the jungle slowly, letting it engulf her and letting everything come around her.
As she walked, she heard something, the sound of someone yelling. She could not make out the words, but she moved towards the sound, wondering what was in so much distress. As she got closer, she soon heard names coming from the yell and then a sad crying and the word mom. She lengthen her stride and stopped, standing not far from the small cub. She had seen Leopards, but this one looked very different.
"Child... What is wrong?" She had come in the middle of the cries and she looked at the child with a gentle face and her voice was caring and sweet. It looked around, her ears twitched as she listened for danger and also for the chance to get a meal not far from the area she was at.

Surprised to hear a voice he stopped crying, his ears lifting up lightly upon noticing her. Through Lei's eyes Sarabi was a slender not so furry spotless beige leopard, his heart filling with a little bit of hope. "I'm lost" -sniff- "I don't know how to get back to my family" he looked up at her, but was still too cautious to approach. However he did realize his chances of survival were small in the unknown environment, and that Sarabi was most likely the only one able to help him in his situation.
Carefully he stepped forward with one paw, still keeping low to the ground. Though, as he set more steps his fear gradually became less until he had reached her front paw. He sat down beside it and stroked his head across her arm, looking up at her with a face that didn't need words to describe his helplessness.

She had slightly surprised him, though, not on purpose. She feared he would run away, but he looked at her, slightly surprised it seemed. She let her eyes travel over his spotted body and she waited for him to say something. ”I’m lost, I don’t know how to get back to my family.” He said and she felt sorry for him as he spoke. She had seen lion take in cubs, but this was a Leopard cub, or at least, something. ”I’m sorry… Where are you from child?” Sarabi asked, looking at him. He would not survive if he stay by himself, he would die without someone older to show him the ropes of hunting in the Savannah.
She watched him come closer, staying closer to the ground and then as he got closer he made it to her paw and rubbed his head against it. His face showed the need, a need for help. She rub her paw across his head and then looked around. ”Come, I am here for a little while in order to get away… But you need to know something… This place isn’t always so nice, don’t ever approach until you know you can trust.” She said, motioning him to follow her. There was a creek not far away and she could kill something with ease in the Jungle. She knew it too well.

Lei was all ears to what Sarabi had to say and nodded when she was finished. For now he would at least have company even though he was still without his family. He followed the lioness without doubts and decided to answer her previous question "I'm from a hill that touches the sky, but me and my family live in the lower region. Do you know how I can get back there?" He still carried the miserable feeling of being separated from his family with him, but talking with Sarabi lightened him up a great deal. "If it helps, the top was all white, and in winter times it spread even down to the forbidden grounds"
Somewhere in his heart there was a spark of hope, slightly suppressing his suspicion that he was nowhere near home. He was hoping Sarabi would recognize the place he explained so that he could find his way home, but there was no way any of the animals in Afrika would know about China.
