A lioness leaped down carefully, landing softly on her pads. Vitani took a long and deep breath. She knew this was a dangerous place but it was were Vitani could come to think. So much has happened... too much. She thought. She would not admit it to the Pride but she knew that in her heart, there was still a great sadness inside.
Vitani stepped in a puddle, she moved sideways and looked down. In her reflection, she saw herself but then as the ripples quieted, her reflection turned into someone she knew well. Someone who was known for her cruelty but Vitani couldn't escape. Zira, her mother. Seeing this, her mind went to Nuka. This was the source of her deep sadness. "Oh Nuka...why counldn't you have just let things alone? I miss you so much..." A sob escaped her just as she heard another set of pawsteps.

Being a nomad most of his life, Mheetu had found that if you ever found a nice quiet place that was far from others, but close enough to be there if needed, you stuck with it. Thus was the case with the eastern gorge. After returning to the Pridelands, Mheetu had looked for a place that could be a nice retreat for himself and Zahir, after the cub had joined him. After that day, Mheetu had found a nice cave toward the top of the gorge that had access to a small path that led in and out of the gorge, while giving him and Zahir enough cover from the elements and the other lions in the area.
Yet, as Mheetu walked along the rocky path to his cave, he heard a sob break the silence of the gorge, causing him to go a little further into the gorge than he normally would. As the lion reached the bottom of the gorge, he moved slowly, finally spotting a young lioness hunched over and sobbing into a puddle. "I would advice you to speak up, young one. The aging Mufasa cannot hear so well anymore. To many wilderbeast rumbling through here, it is becoming harder and harder for him,"
the lion spoke, tail thrashing at the invasion of his home though he had seen the lioness wondering around Pride Rock, marking her as a Pridelander and more than welcome to walk the gorge.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
